門司港名物『焼きカレー』を食べに行きました！【I went to eat Mojiko’s specialty “Yaki Curry”!】

今回は北九州市にあり、かつて明治から昭和初期にかけて栄華を誇り、※日本三大港として栄えた門司港の名物「焼きカレー」をご紹介させていただきます。
※日本三大港とは、横浜・神戸・門司のこと

門司港は欧州航路の寄港地になったことや、大陸貿易も盛んで満州などへの貿易船や客船で莫大な利益を上げる港でした。

そのような歴史から、今も当時の貴重な建築物が残り、「門司港レトロ」として多くの観光客で賑わっています。

門司港名物「焼きカレー」は、昭和30年代に門司港の栄町銀天街にあった「※山田屋」という喫茶店が、当時余ったカレーをグラタン風にオーブンで焼いたところ、実に香ばしく美味しく仕上がったので、のちにお店のメニューとして出し、お客さんから大好評で有名になったことが逸話として残ってます。
※現在は閉店されているとのこと。

そして、門司港焼きカレーを食べるべく、食べログ人気No.1の「伽哩本舗」さんに行ってきました。

ちなみに、伽哩本舗の『伽』は「日本語で話をする、なぐさめる」という意味で、『哩』は中国語で料理に使う調味料を表しているとのこと。
料理を通して、少しでもお客様と対話ができ、心の癒しになることの想いを込めてつけられたとの事。

食べてみると、中に入っている卵がジュワーと出てきて、チーズとのコラボレーションが最高でした！
また、オーブンで焼かれて水分の飛んだカレーは芳醇なコクがあり、極上の食感でした。
お皿の縁についたおこげがこれまた美味しい！！笑
本当最高でした (๑>◡<๑)

焼きカレーはグラタンやドリアのように表面に膜ができるため、通常のカレーよりも冷めにくいため、猫舌の方はくれぐれもご注意ください。

This time, we would like to introduce the famous “Yaki Curry” of Moji Port, which is located in Kitakyushu City and once boasted prosperity from the Meiji era to the early Showa era and prospered as one of Japan’s three major ports.
※The three major ports in Japan are Yokohama, Kobe, and Moji.

Mojiko became a port of call for European routes, and continental trade was active, and it was a port that made huge profits with trade ships and passenger ships to Manchuria and other places.

From such a history, the precious buildings of that time still remain, and it is crowded with many tourists as “Mojiko Retro”.

Moji Port’s specialty “Yaki Curry” was baked in a gratin-style oven at a coffee shop called “* Yamadaya” in Sakaemachi Gintengai, Moji Port in the 1955’s, and it was really fragrant and delicious. Therefore, it remains as an anecdote that it was later put out as a menu of the shop and became very popular and famous by customers.
※The store is currently closed.

Then, in order to eat Mojiko-yaki curry, I went to “Curry Honpo”, the most popular tabelog.

By the way, “Curry Honpo” in “Curry Honpo” means “speak in Japanese, Nagusameru”, and “Curry” stands for seasonings used in cooking in Chinese.
Through cooking, he was able to have a dialogue with customers as much as possible, and he said that he was able to heal his heart.

When I tried it, the eggs inside came out with Dewar, and the collaboration with cheese was the best!
In addition, the curry that was baked in the oven and had the moisture removed had a rich richness and had a superb texture.
The sardines on the edge of the plate are also delicious! !! Smile
It was really great (๑> ◡ <๑)

Since grilled curry has a film on the surface like gratin and doria, it is harder to cool than normal curry, so please be careful if you are a cat tongue.

余談ですが、門司港駅に「ななつ星in九州」が停車していました。
九州に住んでいてもなかなかお目にかかれない電車なので、とてもラッキーでした！

As an aside, “Nana Star in Kyushu” was stopped at Mojiko Station.
I was very lucky because it’s a train that I can hardly see even if I live in Kyushu!
